CompassLearning Odyssey is only available to the computers within our school system buildings. No one outside can have access to it. Even though that is the case, never share your username or password with anyone. We may not open CompassLearning Odyssey to home computers outside our school system buildings, but if we do, the last thing you want is your login information floating around cyberspace. The CompassLearning Odyssey server has a web address. It is http://compass.cmcss.net .
Students have an account to access any assessments, assignments, or activities that the teacher feels are vital to the learning path of the student. The username for CompassLearning Odyssey is the student ID number also known as their lunch number. It should be 6 numbers long. The student password is his/her capitalized first and last initials followed by the last 4 numbers of his/her social security number. Leave the school name as ODYSSEY.
Work through Assignments
Important: When finishing the activity, DO NOT click the red dot that closes the window. The student will not receive credit for completed work. Instead, use the EXIT or STOP SIGN button inside the window.
Problem: When the students are taking the test and it reads a question to them, the window with the audio disappears but pops the login window in front of the test question window. If the login window is minimized, it would get out of the way until the next time the question was read.
Solution: When the login window pops in front of the testing window, close the login window using the red X button. It will leave the testing window on the screen and not pop in front of it again.
To help the next student login to Compass, added the website icon, located in the ZIP file below, to the desktop on the student machine. When double-clicked, it will open http://compass.cmcss.net. The website icon is locked so students cannot drag it to the trash.
